Key Features:
Hardwired Direct To Control BoxIn these systems, a cable runs from the router to a control box that is mounted on a wall close to a socket within 90m of the camera’s mounting point. The camera is powered from the control box. These systems are used where more than one camera is required OR where the cable length from the router up to the camera is more than 90m. (Both cables can be up to 90m giving a total possible distance between camera and house of 180m). |
Wi-Fi Linked Point To Point (PTP)If it is not possible to run a cable from the house to the livestock shed a Wireless link will be required. In this case a cable runs from the Router to a Wi-Fi antenna that sits on the house. It points to another antenna that sits on a point that has a ‘clear line of sight’ (i.e. there are no trees or buildings in the way) to the antenna mounted on the shed. It does not necessarily need to be mounted on the same shed as the camera as its cable can be up to 90m away from the socket that is powering the control box. |
4G ConnectionA 4G system is used when there is no broadband available near the shed and you don’t have a clear line of sight to a location with broadband access. In this situation, we provide a 4G router and an external antenna to ensure the best possible connection. While this system is easy to install, the downside is that there will be ongoing costs to maintain the SIM card. We also supply a 4G router, rather than a 4G camera, this not only means we have total flexibility when choosing the best camera for your shed it also allows multiple cameras to connect to the same SIM card so you only have ONE monthly charge. It’s important to check if there’s a good signal somewhere on your farm (this doesn’t have to be where the camera will be located). Our systems are supplied with a roaming SIM card, which connects to the strongest available signal, whether from EE, Vodafone, or O2. |
12V Ready SystemOur 12V ready kit camera kits are set up ready to be powered by batteries which can then be topped via either a generator OR a solar panel. We provide everything needed for a safe installation including a charge controller and fused output helping to prevent any electrical fires. Currently we do not provide the batteries, solar panel or generator. However, please call us if you need advice. |
Wi-Fi Linked Point To Multi-PointIn systems that have a wireless link to more than one shed a special antenna will be included that can allow multiple shed antennas to connect to it. These antennas will either have a 120 degree spread OR 360 degree spread depending upon your set up. NOTE: For more complicated systems like this please call us and we will help to design a bespoke system for your circumstances. |
